Position: Production Planner

Location: Wolverhampton

Hours: Day shift with an early finish on a Friday (flexible for a 07:00 or 08:00 start)

Salary: -45k - -50k dependent on experience

Job Type: Full-time, permanently employed by the business

We''re partnering with a well-established engineering and manufacturing business that plays a key role within critical UK supply chains. Following significant investment and recent acquisition by a leading industry brand, they''re continuing their growth journey and are looking to strengthen their planning team with an experienced Production Planner.

The Role

As Production Planner, you''ll be at the heart of operations, ensuring customer requirements are delivered efficiently and on time. You''ll work closely with production teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers to keep projects moving and resources aligned.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and coordinating production schedules
• Liaising with subcontractors and external suppliers
• Ordering materials and monitoring stock requirements
• Maintaining accurate system data and reporting
• Resource and capacity planning
• Progress chasing to ensure delivery targets are met
• Working closely with the shop floor and operational teams
• Updating customers on production plans and lead times
• Supporting the Operations Manager with day-to-day planning activities

What We''re Looking For

• Previous experience in a Planning, Production Planning or Scheduling role
• Strong Excel and systems skills
• Experience within Precision Machining, Steel, Fabrication, Engineering or similar manufacturing environments
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach
