Production Planner

We are excited to be partnering with a well-established UK SME engineering business seeking a Production Planner due to continued growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in production planning, manufacturing or engineering who enjoys coordinating multiple areas of a business and taking ownership of the planning process from order through to delivery.

The role:

You will coordinate production schedules, materials and supplier deliveries, ensuring customer orders are completed accurately, on time and within agreed deadlines.

Working closely with Sales, Production, suppliers and customers, you will identify potential issues, manage priorities and drive solutions through to completion.

Key responsibilities:

• Create production job sheets, bills of materials and relevant documentation.
• Develop and manage production schedules and monitor capacity.
• Order and track job-specific parts and components.
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure materials arrive when required.
• Work with Sales, Production and customers to manage delivery commitments.
• Identify and resolve risks to customer deadlines.
• Communicate lead times and order progress.
• Support stock control and stock takes.
• Assist with reducing lead times and improving production efficiency.
• Handle customer queries and complaints, escalating where required.
• Provide technical support to customers where appropriate.

We are looking for:

• Strong organisational and attention-to-detail skills.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of general engineering, ideally including pipework and fittings.
• An engineering qualification or relevant experience would be advantageous.
• Good Microsoft Office skills.

Ideally, you will have experience in production planning within manufacturing or an engineering environment. The business is also open to engineering graduates with the right attitude and a desire to develop their career.
