About the Role
Manpower UK seeks Production Operatives (Shift working) for an adhesives manufacturing client in Bamber Bridge, Preston. This temporary role offers a path to permanent employment. The shift pattern is four days on, two days off, rotating between 06:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00, including weekends. Initial training occurs Monday to Friday daytime only. The starting salary is £28,554 plus a £4,193.90 shift allowance, rising to £7,138.50 after probation. Key duties involve entry-level production tasks: preparing raw materials, identifying quantities, and transporting them appropriately. Packaging duties are also included. Candidates need strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions. Hourly pay ranges from £13.73 to £15.74.
Manpower are currently recruiting for Production Operatives to work on a temporary to permanent basis on behalf of a local adhesives manufacturing client based in the Walton-Summit area of Preston.
Shift Pattern
Working 4 days on, 2 days off. (Initially training Monday to Friday day time only)
Rotating 06.00am until 14.00pm and 14.00pm until 22.00pm
Please note this shift pattern does contain weekend working
Starting salary of £28,554 PLUS an impressive shift allowance of £4,193.90 initially then rising to ££7,138.50 on completion of a successful probation period
PRIMARY DUTIES
Generally, performs, with supervision, entry level production tasks which include:
- Preparation of raw materials and packaging: identifying andamp; preparing the right quantities and transport them to the appropriate production area, reporting any deviation from normal, note start and finish of process.
- Operating Batch processing equipment in line with process instructions and procedures for bonding agent manufacture. Monitor''s equipment, keeping processes running at desired run rates.
- Weekend shift, primary responsibility to operate polymer reaction equipment in line with process instructions and procedures. Monitors equipment, keeping processes running at desired run rates.
- Complete the initial testing and release of products to ensure that there are no deviations to specifications.
- Check labels andamp; packaging material, ensure correct labeling following the existing rules and instructions.
- Packaging the final products in accordance with instructions and company quality standards.
- Carry out all operations in compliance with the expected Quality Standards and Operating procedures of the company and respecting all legal and company EHS-rules.
- Responsible for housekeeping in area of responsibility.
- Carry out any other duties requested from the Production Manager/Supervisor.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Chemical manufacturing experience advantageous
- Knowledge of common software programs (MS office).
- Ability to read and understand work orders, production process, safety regulations and quality procedures and instructions.
- Availability to work shifts which includes weekend work.
- Work under minimal supervision during weekend shift work.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in chemical industrial environment desirable
- Understanding of basic English
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
- Required to stand for long periods of time.
- Walk and climb stairs.
- Use hands to remove or lift boxes, bags and drums.
- Stretch and reach with arms extended.
- Stoop and bend.
- Regularly lift up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Temperature, dust, smell and noise are under normal chemical environment conditions.
