Production Operative

Inspire Resourcing are recruiting a Production Operative on behalf of our Chesterfield based client.

Some key responsibilities and accountabilities:

 Working as a supportive and active team member within the department,

 Setting up, operating and maintaining the production machines where trained                  and authorised,

 Carrying out production processes in line with standard operating procedures,                 including but not limited to:

•  Operating to First In First Out (FIFO) lanes,
•  Rumbling,
•  Knocking on,
•  Hand winding,
•  Spot welding via a machine,
•  Tapping,
•  Cut and buckle,
•  Hanging on. 

     Product measuring to ensure compliance with quality standards and safe operating tolerances;

    Packing manufactured products,

    Comply with all Health & Safety policies, risk assessments and safe systems of work       at all times, including correct use of PPE,

    Immediate reporting of hazards, near misses, incidents or unsafe conditions in line        with company procedures,

    Stop work where there is a genuine safety concern and escalate appropriately,

• Fault finding on machines in order to rectify or report as required,
• To assist in end of shift cleaning / housekeeping duties to 5S standards and actively contribute to continuous improvement and lean activities to support operational efficiency and safety

    Work towards and maintain all quality accreditations ensuring non-compliance or             irregularities are reported to the line manager,

• To assist in the review and update of all work instructions and procedures,
• To undertake training and where competent and authorised, support the training and mentoring of others or new members of staff,
• To actively and positively contribute to the appraisal process and to follow up agreed actions.
