Production Operative (HPR)
The role
We are currently recruiting for a Production Operative (HPR) to join a production team in Halifax.
Working within a manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for supporting the safe and efficient production of PVB (Polyvinyl Butyral) products. You will operate and monitor the High Pressure Reactor (HPR), follow batch instructions, complete production records, and ensure all work meets the required safety and quality standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in production, chemical processing, process plant operations, or a similar industrial environment.
Key responsibilities
Operate and monitor the PVB production process in line with approved procedures.
Set up, operate and monitor the High Pressure Reactor.
Charge raw materials into vessels and reactors according to batch instructions.
Monitor temperature, pressure and reaction times, making authorised adjustments where required.
Carry out routine equipment checks and report faults, defects or process deviations.
Complete production documentation accurately and maintain quality records.
Take samples and carry out basic quality checks.
Provide support across other production areas, including milling, dropping out, dispersions and emulsions.
Follow all health, safety, environmental and quality procedures.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the department.
Support continuous improvement activities focused on safety, quality and efficiency.
About you
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Previous experience in a manufacturing, chemical processing or production environment.
Experience operating process plant equipment, reactors or similar machinery.
A good understanding of safe working practices in an industrial environment.
The ability to follow standard operating procedures and batch instructions accurately.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Good numeracy, literacy and record-keeping skills.
The ability to identify and report process issues or deviations.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
Manual handling experience.
Basic computer literacy.
A flexible and positive approach to supporting different production areas.
You must also be physically capable of undertaking a demanding production role, including lifting and moving materials in accordance with safe working practices.

Working Monday to Frday 1pm to 9pm
