Production Operative

We are looking for a Production Operative to join a small, supportive team. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you''ll be responsible for preparing castings to a high standard, working with precision tools, and following strict quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Remove defects and excess material from castings using hand tools (grinders, burrs, abrasive belts).
- Dress castings to meet drawing tolerances.
- Prepare castings for welding based on inspection results.
- Carry out weld mapping activities.
- Use measurement tools (Callipers, micrometres, depth gauges).
- De-burring, grinding, and removing ceramic mould material.
- Work to tight tolerances and quality standards at all times.
Key Requirements:
- Good manual skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work overtime if needed.
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
- Basic maths skills.
- Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and forklift trucks.
Salary: -26,250 + shift allowance (depending on pattern worked).
Shifts:
- Shift 1: Mon-Thurs 6am-2pm, Fri 5am-1pm.
- Shift 2: Mon-Thurs 2pm-10pm, Fri 1pm-9pm (+% allowance).
- Shift 3: Sun-Fri 10pm-6am (+% allowance).
