The role of Production Operative – Battery Assembly is available in Banbury, offering up to £15.35 per hour on a temporary project basis until February. Working hours run Monday to Thursday, 07:30 to 16:30, with an early Friday finish at 13:30. Candidates must bring prior experience in battery manufacturing, assembly, testing or production. Familiarity with lithium-ion, lithium iron phosphate, electric vehicle units, industrial systems or energy storage technologies is especially valued. This position sits within a specialist operation rather than general production work, so applicants should demonstrate relevant technical knowledge and a careful approach to handling sensitive components. Successful individuals will follow set procedures, maintain quality standards and support efficient output throughout the assignment.

Location: Banbury
Pay Rate: £15.35 per hour
Hours: Monday to Thursday: 07:30am - 4:30pm, Friday: 07:30am - 1:30pm
Contract: Temporary Project Role (Until February)
We are currently recruiting for experienced Production Operatives to join a specialist battery manufacturing operation in Banbury.


This role is specifically suited to candidates with previous battery manufacturing, battery assembly, battery testing, or battery production experience. Applications from candidates who have worked with Lithium-Ion, Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4), EV batteries, industrial battery systems, energy storage systems, or similar battery technologies will be particularly welcomed.


This is not a general production role. Due to the nature of the work, candidates should have experience working within battery manufacturing, electrical assembly, or a related technical production environment.
There is free on-site parking available.


Please note: This project is currently expected to run until February. Due to operational requirements, the client may introduce a split-shift pattern during the project if required.

The Role


You will be working on a specialist battery assembly line producing battery systems for industrial applications. Following detailed production processes and work instructions, you will be responsible for assembling products to a high standard of quality, accuracy, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble battery systems in line with production procedures and work instructions.
  • Work closely with supervisors and team leaders to ensure production schedules are achieved.
  • Assist with the day-to-day running of the production department.
  • Complete and maintain accurate build and production documentation.
  • Maintain strict quality standards throughout the assembly process.
  • Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures.
  • Identify, log, and report faults or issues during production.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain a clean and organised working environment.
  • Support other production activities as required.

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience within a battery manufacturing, battery assembly, battery testing, or battery production environment.
  • Experience working with Lithium-Ion, Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4), EV batteries, industrial battery systems, energy storage systems, or similar technologies.
  • Mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to follow detailed technical work instructions and quality procedures.
  • Experience identifying faults and maintaining quality standards within a manufacturing environment.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience using electrical testing equipment.
  • Experience working with battery modules or battery packs.
  • Basic PC skills.
  • Knowledge of battery manufacturing processes and assembly techniques.
