Production Manager

Overview

Base pay range and application details are provided by W Talent. This role is for a Shift Production Manager at a manufacturing site in Leicestershire, responsible for driving manufacturing and OTIF improvements across the site and delivering high-quality service to customers worldwide.Key Responsibilities

You will be accountable for shift performance, including KPI deliverables covering safety, quality, productivity, and cost.Manage the Production department and safely achieve the plant operational targets within budget.Develop and maintain engaged Production Teams to ensure continuous improvement of people, process, and plant.Input to the Site Operational strategy to optimise people, plant, and processes.Operate within the role\''s responsibilities and budgets; set communication principles as agreed with the Operations Manager.Drive a culture of Health and Safety and ensure that all accidents are adequately investigated.Manage and enable Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Instructions to be reviewed and updated as required.Develop and communicate the manufacturing plan to the team.Define clear metrics for each manufacturing area and ensure Production Team Leaders drive improvement through regular reviews and actions.Create ownership within each production department for self-management in people, planning, and continuous improvement by team leaders.Drive shopfloor standards through regular review and target setting to achieve objectives and results.Collaborate with the Process Engineering Manager and the Quality and Development Manager to optimise formulations and support technical and aesthetic developments.Empower and develop department Team Leaders and their teams in a safe working environment with optimal conditions.Key Requirements

Based in Leicester; ideally 5+ years of managerial or supervisory experience with the ability and desire to work 6am - 2pm, Monday to Friday.Strong leadership skills with focus on training and development of production employees.Technical competence and understanding of production machinery (advantageous).Experience in a manufacturing environment with high-volume production pressures.Excellent people management with change management experience, ideally from a unionised environment.Excellent planning and organisational skills, including data analysis.Ability to empower teams to define their scope and direction.Ability to manage, direct, engage, and drive a diverse group to achieve common goals.What\''s on Offer
