We are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Manager to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Blackburn. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of site production operations and play a key role in driving efficiency, performance, and team development.

 

The Role

As Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.

You will work closely with internal teams to coordinate production schedules, manage resources, and maintain a consistent workflow across the site. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys problem-solving and leading from the front.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and manage daily and weekly production activities
• Ensure materials and resources are in place to meet production demands
• Monitor output and resolve production or capacity issues
• Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture
• Maintain accurate production records and KPIs
• Support stock control and work-in-progress tracking
• Identify and implement process improvements
• Manage, coach, and develop the production team
• Handle attendance, performance, and employee relations matters
• Support quality control and investigate production issues

 

Requirements

• Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment
• Strong organisational and planning skills
• Confident leadership and communication ability
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production planning systems
• Experience handling people-related matters in line with HR processes

Desirable:

• Experience in timber, sawmilling, or heavy manufacturing
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles

 

Salary & Benefits

• £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 8:15am - 5:00pm
• Friday: 8:15am - 4:00pm
