OverviewThe Asphalt Production Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the asphalt production plant in Leeds. Responsibilities include managing production schedules, ensuring quality standards, maintaining equipment, overseeing health and safety compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.

The RoleYou’ll be responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of our asphalt production facility. From managing teams and schedules to driving continuous improvement, your leadership will ensure we meet customer demands while maintaining the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily asphalt production and dispatch

Coordinate raw material deliveries and inventory

Ensure compliance with production plans and quality standards

Lead and develop a team of operatives and technicians

Conduct briefings, reviews, and training sessions

Foster a culture of safety, quality, and collaboration

Enforce HSE policies and legal compliance

Conduct risk assessments and safety audits

Champion a safety-first mindset across the site

Oversee planned maintenance and respond to breakdowns

Ensure equipment longevity and performance

Identify and implement process enhancements

Monitor costs and reduce waste

Apply Lean or similar methodologies to boost efficiency

What You’ll Bring

Proven experience in asphalt or heavy industrial production

Strong leadership and problem-solving skills

Solid understanding of HSE regulations

Technical aptitude and IT proficiency

Engineering or technical qualifications (preferred)

Desirable Qualifications

NVQ in Asphalt or Plant Operations

IOSH/NEBOSH certification

CPCS/MPQC/CSCS credentials
