Production Manager

Elevation Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a great heavy manufacturing business as they look to recruit a Permanent Production Manager, based in Hull. This is a hands on leadership role for someone who wants to be on the shopfloor every day, not stuck behind a desk. The Production Manager will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operation of the manufacturing facility, ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently and to the required standards. Production Manager responsibilities: Own the shopfloor. Be visible, support your supervisors and remove whatever is blocking production. Take charge of health and safety. Safe practices, sharp housekeeping, no shortcuts. Deliver the daily production plan by managing labour, machinery and workflow in real time. Coach supervisors into confident leaders who can run their own areas without you standing over them. Build multi-skilled teams and tackle poor performance early, fairly and consistently. Drive continuous improvement. Cut waste, improve machine utilisation, back good ideas from the floor. Work tightly with Planning, Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse and Transport to keep production supplied and on track. The Person Manufacturing leadership experience in a heavy manufacturing setting, ideally with exposure to timber or wood based processing. Equally, background in other manufacturing environments running heavily automated, continuous feed machinery, such as edge banding lines, would be valued. ..... full job details .....
