Production Manager (Engineering) Location: Shipley, West Yorkshire Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum Holiday: 25 days + statutory bank holidays
We''re recruiting for an experienced Production Manager (Engineering) to join a well-established precision engineering business. Based in a 70,000 sq. ft facility in Shipley, this is an opportunity to take ownership of a busy CNC machine shop, driving production, planning, and team performance.
 
The Role
As Production Manager, you''ll:

• Oversee day-to-day operations of around 20 CNC machines (lathes, milling, boring, drilling).
• Lead and develop a team of 14 engineers, ensuring smooth workflow and strong shift handovers.
• Manage production planning - reviewing drawings, scheduling jobs, and allocating resources.
• Liaise with customers and sales teams on specifications, timings, and costings.
• Support quotations by estimating machining time, tooling, and labour.
• Control ordering of materials, tooling, and consumables.
• Ensure health & safety compliance and oversee shop floor safety.
• Coordinate subcontractors for maintenance, repairs, and servicing.

About You

• Proven track record as an Production Manager, Production Manager, or similar.
• Strong background in CNC machining and precision engineering.
• Able to interpret technical drawings; FANUC programming knowledge an advantage.
• Experience in planning and customer liaison.
• Confident leader.
• Knowledge of health & safety in an engineering environment.

Hours & Benefits

• Monday - Thursday: 7:00am - 5:00pm (45-minute lunch)
• Friday: 7:00am - 11:00am
• Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 DOE
• 25 days holiday + bank holidays
