Production Manager

Our client based in Burton-on-Trent are expanding their team due to massive growth over the last 12 months and are looking to appoint a Production Manager to join their business and take charge of their production area.
Role Overview:
The Production Manager oversees all shift operations, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality production. This role drives performance, cost control, and continuous improvement while aligning production with business goals. The position works cross-functionally to ensure smooth coordination and fosters a high-performing team culture.
Key Accountabilities:

Lead and execute production strategies aligned with business goals.

Manage and develop production teams, promoting a high-performance culture.

Plan and oversee production schedules, labor, and resource allocation.

Ensure product quality and compliance with food safety standards.

Drive continuous improvement, cost control, and waste reduction.

Promote a safe working environment and enforce H&S protocols.

Oversee equipment maintenance and minimize downtime.

Report on performance metrics and support leadership decision-making.
People Profile:

Proven experience in production management or senior supervisory roles within food manufacturing or similar sectors.

Strong leadership skills with a history of building and motivating high-performing teams.

Solid knowledge of HACCP, food safety regulations, and health & safety compliance.

Analytical thinker with the ability to use production data to drive improvements.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and manage stakeholders effectively.

Highly organized with strong planning and problem-solving abilities.

Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and change management.

Proficiency in production planning systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
