Production Manager – Coventry

Bodycote Coventry, England, United KingdomBodycote Coventry, England, United KingdomGet AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.Direct message the job poster from BodycoteWe are looking to recruit a Production Manager at our Coventry facility, to be accountable for the effective use, of all resources i.e. personnel, plant and equipment, ensuring they are effectively and efficiently deployed in order to achieve output to plan, on time and within budget.

Main responsibilities:

Responsible for maintaining, improving and promoting a world class HandS environment in all plant areas. Safety first and foremostDay to day supervision and care of all site personnel in your team, i.e. communication, appraisal, training, disciplinary matters, employee hours and shift working arrangementsDelivery of the training and competency plan (assessing, recording and ensuring delivery of training requirements for all production employees to ensure they meet the required level of capability)Supporting the Quality function and have a “right first time approach”Manage the provision of consumable/materials for site and maintain all baskets and fixturing equipment to ensure we maximise fixture life and tooling costsRegular contact / communication with all site leaders to ensure daily plans and targets are understood including organising the morning meetingsManagement and reporting of cost, quality and delivery KPI’sManaging customer service levels and developing business through good customer relationshipsDirect involvement in Continuous Improvement activities

Qualifications, experience and skills:

Qualified in an Engineering or Science disciplineEngineering / Process/ Manufacturing background, in a regulated industryThe ability to act decisively and solve staff or equipment-related problemsICT literacy to deal with various technologies and programmesCustomer focussed approach to ensure high levels of quality and serviceThe ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with your team, managers and clientsThe ability to work under pressure and multitaskLeadership skills and the ability to motivate others to meet deadlinesUnderstanding of HandS requirementsGood problem solving skills (root cause), with a results driven approachGood level general educationComputer literateContinuous improvement and Lean tools experience is desirable
