The Company

Our client is a well-established, internationally recognised engineering and manufacturing group, supplying high-technology components into aerospace, defence, energy, and advanced industrial sectors. Their Lymington-based precision engineering division is known for producing highly complex, tight-tolerance components and assemblies, supported by state-of-the-art machining capabilities and a strong reputation for quality and innovation.

The Opportunity

As a Production Engineer, you’ll play a key role in bringing complex components to life — from programming and proving out CNC processes to driving continuous improvement across production. This is a hands-on, technically challenging role where your expertise will directly impact quality, efficiency, and manufacturing capability. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop online & offline CNC programs from engineering drawings and 3D models
  • Set, prove, and optimise programs across 3, 4 & 5-axis machining centres
  • Create process plans, routings, and documentation within ERP systems (IFS)
  • Design fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing solutions
  • Analyse and improve existing machining methods
  • Investigate production issues and implement root cause solutions
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and shop floor teams
  • Produce 2D stage drawings and 3D models to support manufacture
  • Drive continuous improvement and best practice across production

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering
  • Strong CNC programming capability (multi-axis milling/turning)
  • Experience with Mazak Integrex machines (highly desirable)
  • Solid understanding of GD&T and tight tolerance machining
  • Ability to work with a wide range of materials and treatments
  • Experience with CAD/CAM systems (Mastercam advantageous)
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (IFS preferred)
  • Confident working independently and within a team
  • Passion for engineering excellence and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Engineering qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent)
  • Apprentice-trained (desirable)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Eligibility to work in the UK

What’s in It for You?

  • Competitive salary + profit share scheme
  • Excellent pension & life assurance
  • 34 days holiday (incl. bank holidays)
  • Health cash plan & wellbeing support
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Employee discounts & assistance programme
  • Free on-site parking
  • Real career progression opportunities within a global engineering group

Why Apply?

This is more than just a programming role — it’s a chance to work on high-spec, complex engineering projects in an environment that values precision, innovation, and continuous improvement. If you’re a skilled CNC Programmer / Production Engineer looking for your next challenge in a high-performance manufacturing environment, this is a fantastic opportunity.
