A growing manufacturing business in Exeter is looking for a hands-on Production Engineer who wants to be close to the action, not stuck behind a desk.
If you enjoy improving how things are made, getting onto the shop floor, and seeing the impact of your work, this one’s worth a look.
What you’ll be doing
This is a practical role supporting fabrication and assembly operations, working closely with production and the wider engineering team.
You’ll be:
- Driving continuous improvement across quality, throughput, and efficiency
- Getting involved in new product introduction, making sure designs work in production
- Supporting day-to-day manufacturing challenges on the shop floor
- Reviewing processes and implementing better ways of working
- Creating and improving production documentation and instructions
- Working with suppliers and internal teams to keep things running smoothly
What they’re looking for
- HNC / HND (or similar) in Engineering
- Experience within manufacturing or production engineering
- Background in sheet metal / fabrication
- Strong understanding of quality and improvement tools (DFMEA / PFMEA etc.)
- Someone practical, proactive, and comfortable working across teams
- You’ll see the results of your work on the shop floor
