Production Engineer

An established heavy engineering manufacturer is seeking an experienced Production Engineer to provide technical support across manufacturing operations. The role will focus on machining processes, production documentation, process optimisation and continuous improvement, using engineering expertise to improve capability, efficiency and yield while supporting the delivery of complex engineered products to demanding standards. This Production Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer with a strong machining background gained within medium to heavy engineering. You will ideally have experience with 4 and 5-axis machining, CNC lathes, SolidWorks and ERP systems such as SAP. A machining-biased apprenticeship with an HNC/HND in Mechanical or Production Engineering would be highly advantageous. Key Responsibilities Provide technical production engineering support across manufacturing, including 4 and 5-axis machining, CNC turning and associated manufacturing processes. Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including process specifications, routings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), production orders and product costings. Use SolidWorks and engineering drawings to support manufacturing activities, resolve technical issues and develop effective production solutions. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities, applying lean manufacturing principles to improve process capability, yield, efficiency, workflow and waste reduction.
