As they continue to grow, my client is seeking a talented and hands-on Production Engineer to join the team and play a key role in the transition from design to manufacture, supporting production processes, continuous improvement, and high-quality product delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the design and R&D teams to ensure smooth transfer of new products into production
- Develop and implement efficient manufacturing processes, assembly procedures, and test methods for electronic and embedded systems
- Support and troubleshoot production line issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
- Maintain and improve manufacturing documentation including work instructions, BOMs, process flows, and test reports
- Monitor production performance and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
- Work closely with procurement and logistics to ensure availability of components and manage supply chain issues
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality standards, including compliance with ISO and other relevant standards
- Provide hands-on technical support to production staff and act as a bridge between engineering and manufacturing
- Ensure Health & Safety best practices are followed in all production activities
- Degree or HND in Production Engineering, Electronics, or a related field
- Previous experience in a production engineering role, ideally within electronics or embedded systems manufacturing
- Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing processes, including SMT, PCB assembly, testing, and fault-finding
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documents
- Proficiency in tools such as CAD (e.g., SolidWorks or Altium), ERP/MRP systems, and Microsoft Office
- Practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Experience working in a regulated industry such as marine, automotive, aerospace, or defence
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies
- Knowledge of embedded systems and firmware testing would be an advantage
