The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of how things are made, with the ability to design components and systems that are cost-effective and optimised for production.Key Responsibilities:Mechanical Design" Apply deep knowledge of fabrication processes (e.g., welding, machining, sheet metal work) to ensure designs are practical for large-scale production." Collaborate closely with production teams to ensure that designs align with manufacturing capabilities and processes." Provide accurate costing for materials and fabrication processes, optimising designs to reduce costs while maintaining quality." Oversee the creation of prototypes and conduct performance tests to validate designs before full production." Create comprehensive technical drawings, 3D models, and specifications to guide fabrication and production teams." Work with suppliers to source materials and components that meet design and cost requirements." Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality through design improvements.Key Requirements:" A minimum of 2 years'' experience in mechanical design, fabrication, and production engineering."
