As a Product Owner, you will help shape the future of our market-leading Workday solutions, owning the product backlog across one or more functional areas and collaborating with development, sales, pre-sales, marketing, and services teams to meet customer satisfaction and sustain our market position. This is a growth phase with opportunities to advance into senior roles within the Kainos Smart business or the wider organization. You will contribute to the future success of the Workday Smart Shield Product—our novel SaaS security product that acts as a secure layer between sensitive data and the teams supporting Workday in your organization.
Responsibilities
Understanding customer needs, personas and why they engage with your product.
Becoming an expert in the problems we solve and why they matter.
Running structured workshops with customers and internal stakeholders.
Defining and building solutions to address customer needs.
Defining the benefits your solutions deliver and how to measure success.
Knowing your competition and how to stay ahead of them.
Launching products and features, including organizing and enabling internal teams such as delivery, pre-sales, and onboarding to maximize impact.
Managing roadmap delivery and the product backlog.
Creating actionable user stories for development teams.
Prioritising the backlog to ensure goals are met.
Identifying and measuring success criteria for each delivered feature.
Defining and communicating release acceptance criteria, including MVP criteria.
Measuring, tracking and improving non-functional aspects of the product.
Contributing to marketing campaigns and external positioning when needed.
Supporting sales efforts with product demos and technical discussions as required.
Minimum (essential) Requirements
A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working as a Product Owner in a SaaS environment, managing backlog, working with development teams and building product roadmaps.
Demonstrable experience and capability to successfully carry out the core Product Owner activities.
Excellent communication skills, with strong negotiation abilities and the ability to listen and incorporate others’ viewpoints.
Enthusiasm for new technologies and innovation; proactive in bringing ideas to the product roadmap.
Attention to detail in interpreting information and challenging sources where necessary.
Ability to facilitate team meetings and group discussions.
Ability to engage with customers to understand requirements and support product discussions.
Commercial awareness to help prioritize product investments and drive commercial success.
Good understanding of technology, digital services and trends.
Effective communication with the team and external stakeholders.
Desirable
Experience with Data Privacy or Compliance products.
Experience integrating AI into commercial products to solve real business problems.
Prior Workday implementation experience.
