Product Owner LIMERICK OR WARRINGTONRole Title: Product Owner (Telecoms, Telco, Telecommunications, Software)Location - Limerick OR WarringtonHybrid working, 1 day a week in the office.Global Software House, Established over 40 yearsRole PurposeThe role defines functional designs through story elaboration and manages the detailed implementation as part of the Global product portfolio, which includes stories assigned by Product Management as part of the product roadmap.The detailed implementation following an agile model involves working closely day-to-day with a team of principally offshore development engineers, providing them with functional direction, lightweight tracking of progress and ensuring that there are no misunderstandings in their delivery assumptions.Where appropriate, works with Product Management in customer discussions to define and present product functionality.The role also contributes to the functional analysis of Level 3 support issues in the assigned part of the product portfolio when they are logged by customers or Professional Services teams and implements bug fixes alongside the product roadmap driven stories where necessary.Role ResponsibilitiesDetailed design and implementation of assigned product roadmap itemsResolution of assigned Level 3 product support issuesDetailed design and implementation of fixes to Level 4 product support issuesRegular "Show and Tell" sessions to present developed product functionality to internal or external audiences as appropriateAdvice when appropriate to Professional Services as to the best way to use the productFeedback on and suggested input to the product roadmapOther• Help create a culture of learning, trust and self-improvementAwareness and compliance of ISO9001, ISO27001, ISO22301, GDPRAny other duties as requiredKnowledge and SkillsIdeally, a detailed understanding of Telecoms products, or, if not, a competitive equivalentStrategic mindedness with a view on future strategy, balanced with tactical deliveryAbility to proactively make justified decisions after considering, multiple, potentially conflicting, inputsAbility to interpret code as a functional blockAbility to collaborate on a daily basis with an offshore teamAbility to prioritise work in a coherent and logical mannerCapable of slicing functional units into suitable delivery unitsCapable of both short term and long term delivery managementGood understanding of data modellingUnderstanding of non-functional requirements gained by working with customersHighly product user focused with a solution orientated mind-setExcellent presentation and communication skillsHard working, dedicated, tenacious, self-motivated and quality mindedMeticulous, structured with excellent attention to detailAdaptable, can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines whilst retaining controlPersuasive, encouraging, and motivatingAbility to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources – a strong negotiatorStrong interpersonal skills with a professional attitudeCommercially aware and politically astutExtensive experience of the software lifecycle, including customer facing experienceUnderstanding of agile delivery approaches and an open mind to how they are best used to drive deliveryExperience of liaising with external customers and internal stakeholdersThis is a hybrid role based in either Warrington or Limerick - you will work in the office 1 day a week.Competitive salary, exceptional work culture and great career opportunities.Please send your CV now for immediate consideration.Applicants of all ages and backgrounds will be considered, and Ascent People Ltd is acting as an employment agency for this vacancy.Seniority level
