Product Development Manager - Packaged Foods - 12 month Parental Leave Cover

Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced individual to join us as Product Development Manager on a 12 month Parental Leave Cover.This role will see the successful candidate define and deliver the product development proposition for their area by developing and launching great quality, value and innovative products for customers, through strong project management and collaborative working. Experience of working in the packaged food product development industry is preferable.Responsibilities
Leading the product development process with NWT and suppliers, ensuring quality and innovation are at the heart of what we do and all new products have clear customer and business rationale and land with maximum impact.Ensuring all products are formulated in line with product rules, corporate initiatives and brand guidelines.Owning and managing the critical path and artwork process using product development systems, effective stakeholder management and communication to ensure all products are launched on time.Developing and driving a future strategic plan for the area that feeds into and compliments the product and category plan.Collaborating with product direction to ensure cross category projects and seasonal events are delivered.Ensuring products are always great quality by regularly reviewing and reformulating where needed.Visiting supplier partners to understand their production capabilities for future opportunities.Keeping updated with trends in product and packaging, competitor activity and market dynamics and sharing with the team.Advocating for Tesco, sharing expertise and passion for product, actively participating in events and social media.Leading change and contributing to the wider business by taking ownership and delivering cross-functional projects.Considering commercial implications throughout development to maximise quality.Developing and leading a high performing team, providing opportunities to perform at their best.Following the Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence.Qualifications
