Product Design Engineer

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Technical Designer/Product Design Engineer to work alongside an Industrial Design team developing innovative consumer products. You''ll turn creative concepts into technically viable proof-of-concept solutions, working at pace across CAD development, layout validation, mechanisms and rapid prototyping to help take ideas from initial concept towards physical reality.

This position would suit an experienced Technical Designer/Design Engineer from a consumer electronics, domestic appliance or product development background, ideally with experience working alongside Industrial Designers either in-house or within a consultancy. It will appeal to someone who enjoys rapid iteration, complex mechanical problem-solving and finding technically robust solutions without compromising the original design intent.

Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate directly with Industrial Designers to translate creative concepts into practical, technically achievable engineering solutions
* Rapidly develop, build and evaluate proof-of-concept designs using an iterative build, test, learn and refine approach
* Develop complex multi-part assemblies, mechanisms and detailed CAD models using Siemens NX
* Work with complex industrial design surfaces and optimise technical packaging to achieve compact, functional and usable product designs
* Support concept development through layout validation, technical reporting, CAD development and rapid prototyping

In return you''ll receive a rate of -400/day Ltd, Outside IR35, initially on a 3-month contract with the potential to extend to 12 months, working 1.5 days per week.

This role requires 5+ years of professional engineering experience, excluding placements and postgraduate study, with Siemens NX experience and the ability to work both on-site and remotely. Experience within consumer electronics or domestic appliances would be particularly well suited.
