A Product Design Engineer is required to join an aerospace engineering team in Guildford on a permanent basis, with a salary band of £30,000 to £45,000 per annum. The role involves researching emerging technologies and materials to develop products such as lighting, HMI, and condition monitoring instruments. Key responsibilities include taking concepts through design, prototyping, electronics integration, and delivery. Required skills encompass 3D modelling, mechanical drawings, ISO standards compliance, and analysis of flammability, lenses, and light cones. Proficiency in Autodesk suite, SolidWorks, or CATIA is essential. Experience with injection moulding, sheet metal, 3-axis and 5-axis machining, and corrosion monitoring is also needed. The position focuses on designing with cutting-edge technology and validating designs through prototyping and testing.
