Product and Safety Compliance Engineer

Fortress Recruit are now looking for a Product Safety and Compliance Engineer on behalf of a leading defence engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Poole. As Product Safety and Compliance Engineer, you will be responsible for product safety, regulatory compliance and certification activities across a diverse portfolio of complex defence products. Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Project teams, you will ensure products meet UK and international regulatory requirements throughout the full product lifecycle, whilst driving a culture of safety, compliance and continuous improvement across the business. Key responsibilities: Lead product safety and compliance activities across multiple defence engineering programmes Develop, maintain and review safety cases, hazard analyses, risk assessments and safety management plans Interpret and apply relevant defence and international standards including DEF STAN, IEC, ATEX, IECEx, CE, UKCA, REACH and RoHS Prepare and maintain technical files, declarations of conformity and regulatory submissions Manage product certification programmes, type approvals and product approval lifecycles Plan and lead internal compliance audits and support external customer, regulatory and certification body assessments Act as the technical point of contact for customers, regulators and third party approval bodies on all product safety and compliance matters Monitor changes to legislation and industry ..... full job details .....
