Overview
As a Procurement Trainee, you will support the Group Procurement team in delivering high-quality, cost-effective, and sustainable procurement solutions. This role offers a structured learning pathway, providing hands-on experience across supplier management, cost control, and continuity of material supply. You will gain the knowledge and skills required to progress and play a key part in ensuring the successful delivery of Miller Homes developments.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
- A keen interest in supply chain management and the housebuilding sector.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is advantageous.
- Some experience or internship in procurement, logistics, or construction (e.g., placement year, summer internship) is helpful but not essential
- Knowledge of construction materials & suppliers within the housebuilding sector will be gained.
- Interest in sustainability and environmentally responsible sourcing
- A strong desire to learn and grow in the supply chain and construction fields.
- Works well in a collaborative environment and is open to contributing to team efforts.
- A detail-oriented approach but the ability to see the ‘bigger picture’
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines.
- Ability to handle challenges and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, especially when dealing with tight construction schedules
- Understand supply risks, and opportunities to de-risk supply uncertainty
