Procurement Team Leader

Great opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join a well-established organisation.

This is a varied role covering strategic sourcing, supplier management, negotiation and stakeholder engagement, with the opportunity to take on more responsibility and develop your leadership skills.

The role

• Manage sourcing and procurement activity across a range of categories.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business and understand what they need from procurement.
• Manage supplier relationships, pricing, contracts and performance.
• Lead sourcing and tender exercises and negotiate commercially strong outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve value and make procurement more effective.
• Use spend and procurement data to identify opportunities and support decision-making.
• Support contract management and supplier performance.
• Work closely with colleagues across the wider business and Group Procurement.
• Help improve procurement processes, systems and ways of working.
• Support and guide colleagues, with the opportunity to take on greater leadership responsibility as you develop in the role.

About you

You will currently be a Senior Buyer, Category Buyer, Category Specialist or Procurement Specialist and be ready for your next challenge.

Solid experience across sourcing, supplier management and commercial negotiation.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• The confidence to influence, challenge and make decisions.
• A commercial mindset and the ability to spot opportunities to save money or improve value.
• Experience managing suppliers and negotiating contracts.
• The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy, changing environment.
• Ideally some experience of supporting, mentoring or guiding colleagues would be highly advantageous
