Whilst this role supports the Inverness campus, we are keen to hear from candidates across Scotland. The successful candidate will typically spend around two days every fortnight on site, working closely with colleagues and stakeholders, with the remainder of their time working remotely. It is an excellent opportunity to combine the flexibility of hybrid working with regular collaboration in one of Scotland''s most spectacular locations.

Our client is looking for a Procurement Specialist to join a collaborative and supportive procurement team, providing end-to-end procurement expertise across a wide range of categories including ICT, Professional Services, Student Services and FM.

This opportunity allows you to work on a diverse mix of procurement activity, from lower-value quotations and framework call-offs through to complex regulated tenders, giving you exposure to a broad range of stakeholders and projects.

The Role

  • Lead end-to-end procurement exercises, ensuring compliance with public procurement legislation and internal governance.
  • Provide expert procurement advice and guidance to stakeholders across a range of departments.
  • Build strong relationships with internal customers, helping them identify the most appropriate procurement route.
  • Manage supplier engagement and support effective contract management.
  • Produce procurement reports and management information to support informed decision-making.
  • Ensure procurement systems and supporting activities are maintained to the highest standard.
  • Promote best practice, continuous improvement and value for money across all procurement activities.

Our client is looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, solving problems and delivering compliant procurement solutions and you will have.

  • Experience managing end-to-end public sector procurement and tendering activities.
  • Good knowledge of public procurement legislation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, including reporting and data analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with procurement data.
  • Membership of CIPS, or a willingness to work towards professional accreditation, would be advantageous.
