Your new company Hays are delighted to be partnering with a progressive local government organisation to recruit a Procurement Portfolio Officer to join their expanding procurement function. This is an excellent opportunity to join a newly established team and play a key role in delivering strategic procurement and contract management activities across a diverse range of servicesYour new role As Procurement Portfolio Officer, you will be responsible for managing procurement activity and contract management within an assigned directorate, ensuring compliance, value for money and strong stakeholder engagement. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to develop procurement plans, provide procurement advice, support tendering activities, manage supplier relationships and identify opportunities for savings and continuous improvement.Key responsibilities will include:Developing and managing procurement pipelines and annual procurement plansManaging a portfolio of contracts and leading contract review activitiesProviding expert procurement guidance on tenders, quotations, frameworks and procurement proceduresAnalysing spend and market data to support procurement strategies and complianceBuilding strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliersSupporting training delivery and promoting procurement best practice across the organisationIdentifying and mitigating procurement risks while maintaining compliance with relevant legislation and policiesWhat you''ll need ..... full job details .....
