Location: Bristol

Salary: Competitive Day Rate | Contract

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Procurement Officer on behalf of one of our clients.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies for approval and support contracts.
  • Support and develop new contract documentation including seeking legal support and advice as required.
  • Lead the preparation and negotiation of contracts for acquisition and support phases.
  • Apply for and progress approvals via CAMS.
  • Engage with other teams to align procurement activities with policies and guidelines.
  • Identify and assess the need for exemptions from standard procurement processes.
  • Prepare exemption packs, including justifications, for submission.
  • Prepare ITT and ITN documentation in accordance with guidance and procedures.
  • Manage the tendering process, including drafting and issuing invitations to tender.
  • Prepare and post notices and ensure compliance with the relevant procurement regulations.
  • Evaluate supplier bids and proposals, ensuring alignment with project objectives and value for money.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure optimal outcomes.
  • Provide commercial advice and guidance to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks throughout the acquisition and support phases.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of commercial activities and progress to senior stakeholders.
  • Support the development of business cases and approval documentation for projects.
  • Support contract amendments and variations as required.
  • Conduct post-contract award reviews to capture lessons learned and improve future processes.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in high level procurement is essential.
  • Experience working in high compliance sectors.
  • Experience managing end-to-end procurement exercises and providing procurement advice.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Current SC Clearance.
