Procurement Manager

Our client, an established manufacturer of innovative technical products supplied to customers worldwide, are looking for a Procurement Manager to join their team based in Lymington.

This is a leadership role responsible for managing the procurement function, developing the purchasing team and ensuring a reliable, cost-effective supply chain across the business.

Key responsibilities of the Procurement Manager job based in Lymington:

• Lead, manage and develop the Procurement team, setting KPIs and driving performance
• Manage end-to-end procurement including sourcing, tendering, negotiation and supplier management
• Ensure continuity of supply across materials, components and services
• Lead supplier escalations and resolve production-critical supply issues
• Develop sourcing strategies and deliver cost reduction initiatives
• Build strategic supplier relationships and negotiate pricing and commercial agreements
• Monitor supplier performance across quality, cost and delivery
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks and develop alternative sourcing solutions
• Manage purchasing forecasts, orderbooks and inventory optimisation
• Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes and systems
• Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Sales and R&D teams
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, ISO9001 and relevant legislation

Experience required for the Procurement Manager job based in Lymington:

• 5+ years'' procurement experience within a manufacturing, engineering or aerospace environment
• 2+ years'' experience leading and developing procurement/purchasing teams
• Proven experience in strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management
• Strong commercial negotiation and contract management skills
• Good understanding of manufacturing supply chains and procurement best practice
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems; Syspro desirable
• CIPS qualified/working towards or relevant Supply Chain/Business qualification
• Strong analytical, commercial and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement with excellent organisational skills
