Procurement Manager

The Company Our client is a market leading manufacturing company. Due to growth, they are now looking to recruit a Procurement Manager. The Role This is a key role, working closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering and Quality, with responsibility for supplier performance, cost reduction, material availability and supporting the overall competitiveness and profitability of the business. Leading and managing the Purchasing team and wider purchasing activities. Developing and implementing purchasing strategies aligned with business and customer requirements. Managing procurement of direct and indirect materials. Sourcing, negotiating and managing suppliers across cost, quality, delivery and service. Driving supplier cost reduction, value engineering and continuous improvement. Managing supplier performance, audits and development. Working closely with Planning to ensure material availability and production continuity. Supporting inventory optimisation and working capital improvement. Reporting on purchasing performance, supplier metrics and cost saving initiatives. The Person Must have experience in a similar role within manufacturing. Strong understanding of supply chain and customer driven manufacturing. Experience managing direct material commodities and supplier negotiation. Proven track record of delivering cost savings and operational improvement. Strong commercial awareness and supplier management experience.
