This Procurement Consultant role focuses on managing procurement projects across Adult Social Care, Children''s Services, and Public Health. You''ll play a key part in ensuring the public sector achieves value for money and delivers essential services effectively.

Description

  • Leading pre-market engagement activities
  • Advising on appropriate routes to market
  • Developing procurement strategies and supporting governance approvals
  • Supporting the development of procurement documentation
  • Acting as a critical friend during specification development
  • Designing commercial models and pricing schedules
  • Supporting the development of technical evaluation questions and weightings
  • Managing procurement exercises through the Council''s eTendering systems (Delta/Mercell)
  • Managing supplier communications and market engagement
  • Handling procurement clarifications
  • Facilitating competitive dialogue processes where required
  • Managing evaluation activities and moderation sessions
  • Supporting award recommendations and governance approvals
  • Assisting with contract mobilisation and handover activities

Profile

  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end procurement projects
  • Strong understanding of UK public sector procurement regulations and best practice
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
  • Experience working collaboratively with technical and operational teams
  • Strong commercial awareness and procurement strategy development skills
  • Experience using eTendering platforms such as Delta or Mercell
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management capabilities

Job Offer

  • Daily rate of -500 (outside ir35)
  • 6-month contract, with potential to extend.
  • Temporary position offering flexibility and variety.
