Process Technologist Manager

Location: Cambridgeshire - on site

Salary: -40,000 - -50,000 d.o.e

We''ve partnered with a market-leading, innovation-driven FMCG business to recruit an exceptional Process Technologist Manager to lead the transition from kitchen concept to commercial launch across their fast-paced product range.

This is a pivotal, hands-on leadership role bridging NPD, Quality, and Production, ensuring every new product is trialled, validated, and launched safely, efficiently and to the highest standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities of the Process Technologist Manager:

  • Own concept-to-launch delivery of NPD and EPD projects, translating kitchen recipes into robust factory-ready processes for cutting-edge functional products.
  • Lead scale-up and critical path management, aligning technical, NPD, and commercial stakeholders across 3-6 month innovation roadmaps and ensuring seamless product delivery.
  • Champion product quality and compliance, conducting taste panels, analysing trial data, and validating nutritional and safety claims across all SKUs.
  • Drive collaborative innovation, engaging directly with retailers, suppliers and cross-functional teams to deliver customer satisfaction and manufacturing excellence.
  • Lead continuous improvement across process efficiency, cost, and technical capability, recommending data-driven upgrades to equipment, methods, and documentation.
  • Own factory trial execution, manage internal/external action logs and deliver technical documentation including SOPs, process specs, and batch sheets.
  • Support sustainability and waste reduction initiatives, integrating innovative thinking into product development and operations.
  • Represent the technical team in customer meetings, artwork approvals and project reviews, ensuring every product meets commercial, legal and ethical standards.
  • Ensure seamless cross-functional integration, working closely with Procurement, Quality and Operations to maintain raw material, equipment, and process alignment.
  • Develop and coach production staff, delivering training on new product processes and upholding safety-first and quality-led manufacturing culture.

What you''ll need:

  • Proven track record of working within a product development and/or process technical role specifically within the food industry
  • Experience supplying products to major retailers is highly advantegous
  • Own transport and flexibility to travel customers
  • Full UK working rights - no sponsorship or visas available
