Description
As the Process Safety Engineer you will be tasked with the following;
- Develop and implement process safety management systems in line with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify and mitigate potential safety issues.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure safety is integrated into process designs.
- Prepare and maintain safety documentation, including safety cases and risk registers.
- Lead incident investigations and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Provide training and guidance on process safety standards to colleagues and stakeholders.
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Engage with external bodies to stay updated on best practices and regulatory changes.
Profile
A successful Process Safety Engineer should have:
- A degree in chemical engineering, process engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of process safety management principles and techniques.
- Experience in the industrial/manufacturing sector, particularly in safety and compliance roles.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation, such as COMAH and DSEAR regulations.
- Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and hazard analyses.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
