Overview

We are looking for an Operator to join our client based in Aspatria. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation, monitoring, and basic maintenance at a plant ensuring it operates safely, efficiently, and in line with environmental regulations.

The successful candidate will monitor plant performance, respond to alarms, carry out routine maintenance tasks, complete sampling and testing, and ensure the site is maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the Effluent Treatment Plant and associated equipment.
• Carry out routine inspections and performance checks.
• Complete sampling and laboratory analysis testing.
• Record and maintain operational data and plant performance records.
• Identify faults and assist with maintenance and repair activities.
• Purchase and monitor stock levels of chemicals, consumables, and spare parts.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across the site.
• Work safely in line with Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures.
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and site stakeholders when required.
• Participate in an on-call rota.

What We''re Looking For

• Previous experience in a plant operations, manufacturing, process, utilities, waste management, water treatment, or similar environment would be an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and make informed operational decisions.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable using computer-based monitoring and reporting systems.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Flexible approach to work and willingness to participate in an on-call rota.
• Experience of maintenance activities would be advantageous.

Benefits

• Hours Shift pattern:
• 7 am - 7 pm - Days X2
• 7 pm - 7 am - Nights X2
• 4 Days Off
• Please note some of the shifts will fall on a weekend

Salary/Details

• -35,000 per annuum
