Process Control and Automation Engineer

Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer? Do you hold strong knowledge of Process Control and Automation with Heavy Industry? Are you based in or around Port Talbot? In this hands-on engineering role, you will act as the first line of defence for the Hot Mill-diagnosing electrical faults, troubleshooting PLC systems, maintaining AC/DC drives, and optimising continuous production. Role: Process Control and Automation Location: TATA Steel Port Talbot SA13 2NG, United Kingdom Hours: Mon-Fri, Day shifts, 36.5 hours per week Rate: £39,265 per annum + 10% Pension Start: ASAP, but pending the successful result of a medical, which does include a Drug and Alcohol test Responsibilities: Provide a complete range of Engineering activities to optimise production within the Primary Operations work area (Slab Yards and Re-heat furnaces). Act as the first point of contact to ensure the continued output of the Hot Mill. Diagnose and rectify faults quickly on plant end devices, instrumentation, control systems, and electrical control systems of DC and AC drives and motors. Issue permits on electrical systems once authorised and competent. Ensure strict compliance with all Health and Safety requirements and implement the company Health and Safety Policy and relevant statutory duties. React to engineering, quality, and safety issues as they arise in a timely and effective manner. Actively contribute to all activities aimed at improving plant performance.
