Private Sector Housing Standards Officer

We''re currently working with a London based local authority to recruit an experienced Private Sector Housing Manager to contribute directly towards the improvement of private sector dwelling conditions across the Borough through a variety of informal and formal enforcement action and policy development. Hourly rate: £40 (Umbrella) Contract: 6 months Location: West London Hours: 37 hours Monday to Thursday 09:00 - 17:15 Friday 09:00 - 17:00 Key duties: Improve the quality of private sector housing stock and support the sector in meeting housing needs across the Borough Investigate and resolve housing condition complaints within the private rented sector Inspect and assess properties using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and Housing Act 2004 Investigate reports of poor housing conditions and sub-standard Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) Deliver both informal and formal enforcement action to secure improvements to housing conditions Initiate, manage and progress enforcement cases in accordance with legislation, council policies and procedures Contribute to the development and implementation of Private Sector Housing policies and service improvements Work collaboratively with residents, landlords, managing agents and partner organisations to achieve positive housing outcomes Prepare evidence, reports and statutory notices to support enforcement activity and regulatory compliance Manage a varied caseload of housing standards and enforcement matters, ..... full job details .....
