The role sits within a busy, high-demand London borough with a diverse private rented sector and a strong focus on tackling poor housing conditions, rogue landlords and unlicensed HMOs. You''ll be responsible for a varied caseload, carrying out HHSRS inspections, investigating housing complaints and hazards, and taking enforcement action under the Housing Act 2004 . Key Responsibilities Undertake HHSRS inspections and assess Category 1 and 2 hazards. Investigate complaints including damp and mould, excess cold, fire safety, electrical hazards and overcrowding. Investigate unlicensed HMOs and licensing breaches. Prepare and serve Improvement Notices, Hazard Awareness Notices and other statutory notices.
