Software Engineer - Strategic Engineering, Cyber SecurityLocation: Sheffield (3 days per week onsite mandatory)Contract End Date: 22 September 2027Rate: £411 per day via Umbrella companyAbout the RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Software Engineer to join a Strategic Engineering team within Cyber Security. This role is ideal for a strong software engineer who enjoys building production-grade applications, Back End services, APIs, developer tooling, and automation solutions that support enterprise-scale cyber security and data platforms.This is a software engineering-focused position with significant hands-on development responsibilities. It is not a traditional infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering role. The successful candidate will combine strong coding expertise with experience operating services in cloud environments using modern DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.Key ResponsibilitiesSoftware EngineeringDesign, develop, test, and maintain Back End services, APIs, and engineering tools.Build production-quality software using technologies such as Go, Python, Java, or C#.Apply software engineering best practices including SOLID principles, design patterns, refactoring, and peer code reviews.Develop scalable, maintainable, and highly testable systems and services.Implement automated testing, including unit, integration, and behavioural testing.Produce clear technical documentation and contribute to engineering standards and ..... full job details .....
