CDM Designer – Consultancy
Colchester: full hybrid, flexible working, ideally 2 days office / 3 days home with UK travel

In this role you will play a key role in supporting both clients and project teams by providing expert advice on health and safety compliance and fulfilling CDM responsibilities across all service phases. You will coordinate health and safety measures throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring effective communication and documentation at every stage. This includes developing strategies for the efficient flow of H&S information, liaising with principal contractors and stakeholders to ensure that designs meet regulatory and practical safety standards, and advising clients on the feasibility of their project plans.
Key duties:
- Advise and assist with client and project demands.
- Guide and support in compliance with H&S regulations.
- Coordinate and implement H&S measures for the planning and preparation of all construction phases.
- Complete all administration paperwork and communicate this through the appropriate channels.
- Assist and develop strategies to maintain the flow of relevant information at all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Liaise with principal contractors and all stakeholders to ensure designs meet safety requirements.
- Advise clients in terms of project practicality regarding CDM regulation.
- Manage multiple internal and external client CDM portfolios.
- Knowledge of legislation relevant to the construction industry and willing to learn and develop knowledge within the field of CDM and Health and Safety.
- Qualification in health and safety (NEBOSH construction, TechIOSH etc.).
- Previous CDM experience.
