Principal Urban Designer

Principal Urban Designer role based in Manchester, focused on UK regeneration and masterplanning projects. This position suits an experienced designer with strong UK planning knowledge, leading mixed-use and town centre schemes across varied scales. You will guide projects from concept to planning, working within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment on landscape-led developments.Role and ResponsibilitiesLead urban design and masterplanning projectsDevelop concepts for regeneration and mixed-use schemesManage design stages through planning submissionCoordinate multidisciplinary project teamsEngage clients, stakeholders, and consultantsPrepare graphics for planning and design reviewsOversee junior team membersMaintain design and delivery standardsSupport project programming and outputsContribute to business development activitiesSkills and Experience RequiredMinimum five years UK urban design experienceStrong knowledge of UK planning systemBackground in design or planning disciplineProficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe, 3D softwareExperience leading projects and client relationshipsStrong communication and presentation skillsExperience delivering regeneration or mixed-use schemesAbility to manage programmes and deadlinesCollaborative approach within multidisciplinary teamsRelevant postgraduate or professional qualificationSalary and Benefits 40,000 - 55,000 depending on experience.
