Principal Transport Planner - Outside IR35

Our client, is currently seeking a Principal Transport Planner to join their team on a contract basis. The position, based in Winchester, involves strategic transport planning, focusing on the delivery of high-quality strategic outputs.

• Providing experienced strategic transport planning support to the Area Strategy and Scheme Development Team
• Leading the development and delivery of transport scoping and strategies, Movement and Place Frameworks, and long-term transport planning studies
• Progressing priority strategic projects within the 2026/27 Transport Programme
• Offering specialist expertise and leadership in strategic transport planning
• Mentoring and coaching less experienced officers
• Collaborative project delivery to enhance team capability and expertise
• Delivering high-quality strategic outputs

• Extensive experience in transport planning
• Strong understanding of transportation and highways disciplines
• Proven ability in strategic project development and delivery
• Leadership skills and experience in mentoring and coaching
• Excellent communication and collaborative abilities
• Ability to commit to hybrid working, with attendance in the Winchester office every Monday
• Valid car driving licence (Category B)
