Band descriptionThese roles are primarily based on a level of significant technical expertiseor functional specialism. They ensure delivery for a defined area ofresponsibility, generally within a specific team within a business unit.Individuals will have discretion to operate within their area ofexpertise and may be required to undertake complex problem solving /analysis. They typically deliver activities as part of a direct ormatrix team and support the delivery of professional or thoughtleadership.Key responsibilities(deliverables of the day job)Lead the development and adoption of best practice engineering design standards and proceduresAnalyse and solve unique, complex and high impact problemsEngage with internal and external stakeholders to define requirements and design solutions to meet agreed specificationsDefine the future state architecture and contribute to the development of architectural strategy and roadmapPlan technical and architecture development andmodifications and recommend process, product or service improvementsApply quality assurance processes to ensure thatend-to-end technical designs and builds meet technical requirements andstandardsIdentify and control technical risks and issuesProvide detailed documented technical solutions and reports for distribution both internally and externallyProvide technical expertise and guidance to the bid management process internal stakeholders and customersProvide technical leadership within the team, sharingknowledge and skills and providing mentoring support to engineers andtechnicians
Qualifications
Continually develop expertise in emerging broadcast/media markets (IPTV, VOD, OTT, Interactive etc.)Suggest and develop strategic developments to the Playout and MediaManagement products in order to gain new business and improve customerserviceWhere necessary manage relationships with suppliers in implementation of development activitiesLead the integration of new technologies and systems into the Workflow/Content/Playout platformsRecognised internally and externally as a source of expertise in mediamanagement and playout technologies and systems and the potentialsolutions they may provide to existing customers and product roadmapsBe an expert in existing and emerging media/metadata formats and standardsInvestigate operational requirements and problems, seeking effectivebusiness solutions through improvements in automated and non-automatedprocessesDesired knowledge and experienceSignificant knowledge in media management and playout technologyKnowledge of IP and IT technologies as they relate to media management and playoutWide knowledge of the broadcast industry, developments and trendsExperience of designing and delivering technical implementationsCategory:Non-IT code:newJob RequirementsArchitect , ..... full job details .....
