Principal Systems Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical/Process Systems) Location: Hybrid - Derby Office attendance 2/3 days per weekContract Duration: 12 monthsRate: £65 Per Hour Inside IR35 Are you a Systems Engineer with experience in mechanical, electrical, and process systems in highly regulated industries such as nuclear, aerospace, or defence? We are looking for a Principal Systems Engineer to join a dynamic contract team delivering defence and decommissioning projects. You will work in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment, bridging complex systems, leading interface management, and delivering robust, compliant solutions.Key Responsibilities Produce, manage, and verify system requirement specifications.Lead interface management across mechanical, electrical, and process systems.Define system architecture and perform functional and interface modelling.Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure system designs meet operational and regulatory requirements.Maintain and operate requirements management software (DOORS preferred).Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as Capella (desirable).
