- Harrogate, UK (R10202836)Northrop Grumman UK is seeking a highly qualified Principal Electronics Engineer / Senior Principal Electronics Engineer in Ground Hardware Engineering to join the Ground Terminal Department at a field site in Harrogate, United Kingdom.Role Summary

The Principal Electronics Engineer / Senior Principal Electronics Engineer provides installation, integration, operation, maintenance, and repair support for the ground terminal architecture at customer sites as part of a specialized team, ensuring the availability of critical mission systems. You will leverage your experience to perform time-critical observation, assessment, repair, and monitoring of complex communications systems and data links, and you will present recommendations to inform decisions on mission-critical infrastructure and equipment.Responsibilities

Provide daily support and after-hours 24/7 response for technical operations, maintenance, and anomaly restoration for all systems assigned to the programOperate, maintain, repair/replace, and install equipment related to communication systems (antennas, servo systems, transmitters, receivers, mixers, switches, modems, upconverters/downconverters, amplifiers, IT hardware, fiber optic transmitters/receivers, waveguides, cables, and peripherals)Develop and execute routine and non-routine maintenance plans and schedulesDiagnose equipment malfunctions using electronics principles and restore mission-critical operations at system, sub-system, LRU, and board levelsDocument equipment failures and prepare status reports; support CONOPs and improvements to operations and maintenanceCollaborate with cross-functional teams on installations/upgrades, test activities, IT security patches, and anomaly restorationProvide training to operations and maintenance personnelProvide COMSEC support, including cryptographic equipment operation and keying material handling/trainingMaintain professionalism with customers, suppliers, and colleaguesTravel as required to CONUS/OCONUS sitesQualifications

Basic Qualifications for Level 3

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline plus 5 years of technical/engineering experience OR Master’s degree in STEM plus 3 years of experience OR 9 years of related experience in lieu of degreeStrong technical communications and documentation skills; ability to work in a diverse teamExperience with repair, configuration, troubleshooting, and operations of network devices, computer systems (Windows/Linux), and communications equipmentProficiency with VMS, Windows, VxWorks, and/or Linux/UNIXExperience with scripting (Perl, Python, PowerShell or similar)Willingness to complete a two-year overseas tourActive DoD Top Secret Clearance and SCI AccessAbility to pass CI Polygraph prior to startBasic Qualifications for Level 4

Bachelor’s degree in STEM plus 8 years of experience OR Master’s degree in STEM plus 6 years OR 12 years of related experience in lieu of degreeSame requirements as Level 3 for communications, systems, scripting, overseas tour, clearancePreferred Qualifications

Active DoD Top Secret Clearance / SCI with CI polygraph within last five yearsCertifications such as Network+, Security+ or DoD 8570 IAT Level 1 or higherExperience in operations, maintenance, or IT of digital electronics, or RF systems in DoD/Intelligence Community; military experience is a plusLinux administration and network hardware configuration (switches/routers/firewalls)Hands-on experience with circuit repair and test equipmentKnowledge of digital modulation techniques (e.g., BPSK, QPSK) and various protocols (RS-232/422, GPIB, TCP/UDP)Proficiency in programming/scripting (Perl, Python, C/C++, Java, MATLAB, LabVIEW)Ham radio and SDR experience beneficial; prior COMSEC experienceExperience with development contracts such as Atlantis, Rushmore, COAST is desirableCompensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00; Salary Range 2: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00. Details depend on scope, experience, and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply.
