Principal Optical Test Technician

Our client, a leader in the Defence and Security and Manufacturing sectors, is seeking a Principal Optical Test Technician to join their dynamic team. This permanent role is focused on supporting and developing manufacturing capabilities through detailed verification and validation processes.Key Responsibilities:Set up, align, and calibrate optical test equipment, ensuring accurate configuration and optimisation.Lead acceptance testing to ensure products meet defined optical specifications and quality standards.Implement process control techniques to maintain production consistency and perform statistical analysis for performance metrics.Work collaboratively with Optical SMEs to collate, summarise and record evidence.Produce comprehensive reports with actionable insights to refine and improve designs and processes.Oversee the transfer of test techniques and methods from RandD to mass production, ensuring scalability and repeatability.Investigate test discrepancies, implement corrective actions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams for performance enhancement.Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including test plans, procedures, and data analysis reports.Optimise value streams and create manufacturing workflows using Lean6Sigma, TIM WOODS, and Lean methodology.Specify and implement digital production tools and capital equipment to maximise productivity and efficiency.Job Requirements:Significant experience in optical testing and a solid understanding ..... full job details .....
