Principal Nuclear Safety Assessor Based in or commutable to Cheshire or Cumbria (hybrid working) Permanent £70,000 to £90,000 per annum + benefits Shirley Parsons has partnered with a leading consultancy firm at the forefront of nuclear safety and risk management. With over 30 years of experience supporting the UK''s nuclear sector, they are looking for a Principal Nuclear Safety Assessor to join their Health, Safety and Risk team. This hybrid role is suited to candidates based in or commutable to either Cheshire or Cumbria, offering the opportunity to lead major safety case projects, support regulatory engagement, and shape the future of nuclear safety consultancy. The Principal Nuclear Safety Assessor will be responsible for: - Leading the preparation and delivery of nuclear safety cases and supporting documentation. - Facilitating hazard identification workshops (e.g. HAZOP) and applying structured safety case methodologies. - Collaborating with engineering teams and specialist disciplines (e.g. Human Factors, Fire, Criticality, Shielding). - Supporting clients in regulatory interactions and maintaining long-term relationships. - Managing consultant teams, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to business development.
