In order of preference for Location – Aberdeen, Staines, Glasgow or Reading
Applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.
Principal Network and Cyber Security Engineer experienced to have experience in Automation and Control Network design and implementation to join my clients Systems Integration team.
As a Principal Network and Cyber Security Engineer, you will assist in the provision of cyber security, networking, secure architectures, solutions, vulnerability and risk assessments, technologies and procedures to support my clients assignments / project teams and clients. To discover vulnerabilities and risks in networks, software systems and data centers through ongoing vulnerability scans, monitoring network data, and ensuring hardware and software applications are updated.
Our Systems Integration (SI) team, work with a variety of high-profile clients across the energy sector. Delivering bespoke essential automation and control solutions that enable a safer and more efficient operation.
Within SI, my client is architecting their clients'' digital ecosystems to be inherently safe, cyber-secure and operable. Within their teams they will integrate client source systems across their IT, Operational Technology (OT) environments, securely pushing OT data into IT systems as a foundation for transformation.
They design and integrate operational technology to achieve business, production, and operational goals.
Principal Network and Cyber Security Engineer Responsibilities
Provides expertise in Network Design, implementation, and testing for networks to support Integrated Automation and Control Systems SolutionsResponsible for identifying / defining the required network to support the Automation and Controls requirement / solutions for the clientDevelopment of Detailed Network ArchitectureDevelopment of Network Dataflow DiagramProduce Cybersecurity requirement implementation specificationsProduce Network Schedules (IP addresses, Data communication, server andVM, Switch and firewall)Produce Testing procedures (FAT)Development Migration StrategySelection of suitable network component.Inter-discipline review of deliverables from other departments.Produce Material requisition and contribute to Technical Bid evaluationReview Vendor Drawing and consolidate comments generated by other disciplinesSupport the Lead Engineer in accomplishing project objectivesApply integration concepts to a wide variety of systems and across multiple vendor platformsEngineer technical aspects of automation project network design and / or implementation for assigned activitiesUndertakes Cyber Security Risk Assessments providing advice and guidance for implementation of Cyber Security Risk Assessment findings mitigating actionsSupport in evaluating client’s security posture, identify vulnerabilities, weaknesses, and areas for improvementStay up to date with the latest security trends, threats, and best practicesProvide support to standardising project execution / workflow
Expected
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum BSc Degree or equivalent demonstratable experienceSignificant experience and competency in Control System Network Design EngineeringGood understanding of IEC62443 Industrial Cyber SecurityGood understanding of IEC 27001 / 2 Information Security ManagementGood general knowledge of each Automation and Control engineering disciplineExperienced in writing Network specificationsDetailed experience with multiple system implementation project and / or control system platformsExperience in Brownfield upgrades / replacement automation and control projectsExperience of Networks containing Rockwell and Schneider PLC / SCADA systems is advantageousMust have thorough knowledge of engineering practices, methodologies and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, international codes and standards, procedures, and specificationsKnowledge of modern automation and control applications, tools, methodologies, or equal training / experienceExperience of OT Intrusion Detection Systems is advantageousGood working knowledge of current industry specific technology and the application of current engineering software / tools and trendsInquisitive, well organized and have a keen eye for detailHands on experience of using cybersecurity toolsGood knowledge and understanding of cybersecurity standards, data protection frameworks, and maintaining complianceMulti sector knowledge and global project experience in relevant areasIdentifying, defining, and solving client problems
Desirable
Good knowledge of process automation, dynamic/real-time systems, and relevant technologiesGood knowledge and experience in implementing security practices and controls related to architecture, governance, risk, and compliance managementGood knowledge and experience with vulnerability management, risk management, compliance, and penetration testing tools
