Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAs our Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will deliver Mechanical Design and Engineering Services to water sector projects.We work with customers as a primary provider of engineering support through ECI and FEED phases to take their project through to detailed design and construction.Work will be located at Costain Offices at Aviator Way, Manchester, with a blended approach to flexible and home working to support wellbeing. Ensure compliance with Company and Client Policy regarding water sector requirements.Complete specific design tasks delegated by the Project Discipline Engineer or Engineering Manager.Deliver work packs in a timely and cost-effective manner, aligned with Company and Client Project requirements and standards. Mobilise task forces with team members selected through the SQEP process, familiar with the relevant field.Maintain Quality Assurance, auditable records, and technical files in line with CDM requirements. Liaise smoothly with partners and disciplines as required.Qualifications

Essential:Knowledge and experience in their specialist field and discipline (i.e., SQEP''d - Suitably Qualified Experienced Person).Ability to carry out Lead Mechanical Engineer roles on water projects and support the development of fellow engineers.Proven experience in Mechanical discipline or related field.Proficiency in delivering engineering design across various work categories.An appropriate Degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.Experience in one or more of the following fields:Water treatmentWastewater treatmentBiosolids/sludge treatmentPumping systemsChemical storage and dosingAsset condition surveys and reportsDesirable:
